With a message from the Nanjing Students Association President Yol Donigi. Let it be known that this is the same sentiment we all share!! There are many more students all through out China and we expect the support to keep coming in!!!
FROM THE NANJING PNG STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (On behalf of us all)
Being a Papua New Guinean is what makes us unique with various cultural and traditional diversities that give us the strength to live for the family, people and the country.
After hearing all that has happened and happening right now across the country has left us to nothing but to stand up and air our voice back to the country and our neighbors with bereavement about the government and police brutality to the students across the nation.
We are standing here with patriotism as Papua New Guineans with the international and PNG student’s body in China strongly condemning the government bulling and brutality which resulted in shedding the students’ blood in Papua New Guinea. This is the second time in PNG that students have shed their bloods for the love of their own country when speaking out and exercising their democratic rights.
We are taking our stand broad with the students back in PNG and strongly condemning the governments reactions and police shooting of students, as we believe in students being the foundation of the nation’s development in all aspects.
With anguished emotions, we mourn that never in the history of Papua New Guinea shall the shooting of unarmed students be repeated. The development and future of the nation depends on human resources, and these are the very students that were shot and traumatized by the police shooting.
In one mind with the university students in PNG we speak one voice from Nanjing, Beijing and Shenyang, China, that the government must respect the democracy of the country and rule of law. The PNG Police should protect the people of the country including the students, and should not traumatize them with deadly weapons. They are commissioned with pledges to serve the People. “I serve my country, I honor my people, I salute the flag” is the pledge of the PNG Royal Constabulary.
Please share this post.. Let the whole Nation and the world know that we are not happy with the shooting of our innocent students like common thugs and criminals!!
