As if the drama of the  university unrest wasn’t enough, Kimbe police headed by PPC Jim Namoro have arrested a Primary school  girl  who criticized police for their handling of the clashes between Engans and Sepiks in Kimbe.  According to the newspaper report,  police coun’t handle an outspoken primary school girl who vented on Facebook, so they tracked her down and charged her using the Telecommunication Act  and the Summary Offenses Act.

I mean, come on guys…. you’re cops!  The toughest of the lot and you’re hurt by the words of  a primary school student who criticized your work?

  1. That’s sad, they could’ve just talked to her and give a warning?
She’s just a kid, they were hurt because of a few words by a child?

  2. Who will we trust?
The police are supposed to be protectors of the people.
The police are supposed to be highly deciplined to only use reasonable force(guns) in very necessary violent situations like armed robberies, wars and terrorist attacks.
In PNG we are seeing policemen walking around with high-powered assault-rifles.
PNG is a very peaceful country but the police is making it look like a violent and unsafe country like Afghanistan of the Middle East.
The barbaric and inhumane behavior of the present generation of police is making the people lose confidence and security of the police force as the primary law enforcement agency in the country.(wednessday, july 6th 2016. The National, page 39)
police recruitment should be put into the education system where grade 12 school leavers will apply.
They should take the course for 3 or 4 years and also study law, and graduate as a professional law enforcer.
I have witnessed police beating up people and taking their beer and other things that is displeasing, how can we trust our good police when they are becoming the very criminals that they sought to protect us from. these issue has become an agenda for every disscusion between families and at workplaces.
As a patriot I am concern for my country because when foriegners come to PNG it is our good police that will paint a bad picture of our country and will downgrade our country’s good reputation.
Please if it is possible put our police into the education system and produce a genuine and professional law enforcers(police)
