It reinforces a stereotype that older people who live in the village and who don’t have a formal education are foolish, stupid and funny.
This kind of ridiculing is OLD. It is from a colonial era – a period of transition when town people looked down on ples people. When old bubus, brought to town, were disrespected by their grandchildren and laughed at because they couldn’t speak the white man’s language.
- NOT COMEDY
This is simply, a better educated younger person poking fun at an older less educated man. Heni Fuka is someone being taken advantage of and doesn’t realize it.
- GLORIFIES ILLITERACY
This show glorifies somebody’s state of illiteracy and ignorance. It does nothing to strive for a higher purpose as most socially conscious comedians do globally.
- BAD ROLE MODELS
Children are imitating these two guys. What good values are they teaching? What morals are they passing on? NOTHING!
- IT SAYS: “PAPUA NEW GUINEANS ARE STUPID”
This show conveys the idea that Papua New Guineans are stupid.
- PNGFM IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PAPA HENI FUKA
How much do you pay him for sounding stupid and illiterate on radio?
